Phil was never one for big fusses (or small ones, for that matter), but he would’ve loved the idea of this tribute having a cheeky nod to his life. Whether you were the friend he roped into "just a quick repair" or the family member who got a rare call that didn’t involve car parts, you knew Phil for his wit, generosity, and his unique way of fixing both machines and moods.


He was a man of many talents—some official, like making cars do things they probably shouldn’t, and some unofficial, like convincing you to stand in as an extra pair of hands, even if you had no idea what you were doing. His love for family, friends, and of course, his beloved pets, ran deep. And even when life threw challenges his way, Phil met them with his classic grin and "we’ll sort it" attitude.


In true Phil fashion, he asked for no muss and no fuss, especially not flowers. But if you’d like to honour his memory, we’ll have a collection bucket at the funeral and the wake afterward for donations to Macmillan, a charity that supported Phil in various ways during his final days. Macmillan does incredible work for so many others, and Phil admired their dedication. However, there’s no need to feel obligated to contribute money; what we’d really love is for you to contribute a story about Phil.


So raise a glass, share a memory, and if you wish, donate a quid. That’s what Phil would’ve wanted.
